Top Nollywood Actors, Lagos State Government, Others Walk against rape…

Lagos House of Assembly members, top Nollywood actors and hundreds of  people joined Heartminders Societal Advancement Initiative to walk against rape.

The sensitization walk was held on Thursday 23rd Feb, 2017 in partnership with Lagos State Government, office of Civic Engagement, Mirabel Rape Centre, Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Lagos chapter and Sisters Interact Network walked against rape.

Walkers converged at LTV complex, Agidingbi Ikeja and then walked down to Lagos House of Assembly where they were received and addressed by two members of the house, Hon. Olusegun Olulade and Hon. Bisi Yusuf .

Hon. Olusegun Olulade of the Lagos House of Assembly who represented the speaker spoke passionately about the resolve of Lagos state Government under the leadership of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode to eradicate all forms of sexual violence in th state. Also responding to the founder of Heartminders Projects Mrs. Funke Oguntuga who said there is too much delay in getting justice for rape survivors, Hon. Bisi Yusuf Replied that the message the conveyed and acted upon immediately.

Lolo1, OAP Blacksatino, Doris Simeon and Jide Awobona were the lead celebrities who joined the walk.

About Heartminders Societal Advancement Initiative

 

Heartminders Societal Advancement Initiative is a 100% non-profit organization that runs and operate with help from volunteers and general donations. The Heartminders project was conceived with the aim of creating a better and healthier society. That, we set out to achieve by teaching sex education for free in Lagos schools,  building and mending relationships to reduce the trending occurrence of not just unwanted pregnancy and over-population but also broken homes and relationships which has been increasing at a geometric progression rate, public speaking, sensitizing and campaigning/advocate against Rape and Sexual abuse.

 

We aim to offer Nigerians, especially the young adults, through this project, hope for a better tomorrow, upholding their right to life.
