NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS, NKIRU OMEILI LAUDS MANSARD INSURANCE….

Popular Tinsel actress, Nkiru Kiki Omeili, has openly commended the efficiency of Mansard Insurance. The awards-winning actress whose repertory includes Lekki Wives, Married But Living Single and Footprints among others, posted a slew of tweets to this effect. “I’m really impressed with Mansard Insurance. I received my claims within three working days. They really are as good as they say they are. Kudos.” When one of her followers on the micro-blogging site asked whether she was paid for the unsolicited publicity, Omeili replied, “I don’t have to be paid to commend good service my esteemed colleague, (because) good service is so difficult to come by these days.”
Narrating her experience with the foremost insurance company, Omeili, listed as one of the 25 Hottest New Talents in Nollywood by the Nigerian Entertainment Today, said, “I went to see a friend and parked my car outside which was not unusual. When I returned later, I noticed that my trunk was partly opened which was not the way I left it. Dazed, I went into the car and discovered that it had been ransacked and my glove compartment cleaned out. That was when I realised that the brainbox of my car had been removed.” One of the stars of Tinsel, the hugely popular MNET series, Omeili said that promptly, she got across to the friend who had introduced her to Mansard. “The incident happened on a Thursday and before the end of that day, the company sent me the claims form. I filled everything and the following Monday, I got the Discharge Voucher which I filled and sent back to them. On Tuesday, I got an alert from my bank that payment to fix my car had been made by Mansard. I was pleasantly shocked and surprised. For me, that was really commendable.”
The University of Lagos trained medical doctor-turned actress said that in a country where mediocrity and inefficiency are the order of the day, Mansard has proven to be a refreshing and heartwarming difference. “Though people see insurance as expensive but in all fairness, the risks insurance helps to mitigate is unquantifiable. Without Mansard, how convenient do you think it would have been for me to replace the brainbox of my car?” Omeili asked rhetorically.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, is reportedly on the run as the Ogun State Government arraigned nine of his associates for assaulting officials.

The singer’s proteges were arraigned on Thursday before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court.

The Ogun State Police Command accused the suspects of assaulting government officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

The suspects, identified as Oluwaseun Ayenuwa, 19; Precious Ohiegebo, 19; Oluwapelumi Adeosun, 20; Gospel Kanu, 20; Nurudeen Warris, 21; Adetola Alashe, 25; Fatimo Muhammed, 26; Ifeoluwa Babatunde, 27; and Samuel Adeleke, 28, were arraigned on a five-count charge of armed violence with cutlasses and guns, felony, obstruction, assault, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and intent to kill.

However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Police Prosecutor Sunday Ekong told the court that the defendants committed the offences alongside Portable around 10:00 am on Wednesday at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu, Sango-Ota, in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

Ekong explained that the singer, who is currently at large, unlawfully restricted, obstructed, and assaulted town planners Ramon Lateef, Akinpelumi Oyero, and Abidemi Onabanjo while they were performing their lawful duties at Odogwu Bar, a business owned by Portable.

The prosecutor noted that the defendants were armed with dangerous weapons and had the intent to kill the officers.

The charges violated sections 516, 356(3), 80, 249(d), and 320 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State, 2006.

In her ruling, Justice O.M. Somefun granted the defendants bail in the sum of N5 million each, with sureties who are licensed bond agents registered with the state government.

The case was further adjourned until March 17 for hearing.

The incident reportedly stemmed from the sealing of Portable’s uncompleted hotel and building by the ministry over illegal development without necessary permits.

SOCIETY REPORTERS recalls that the singer had called out the government officers for arresting his customers and vandalizing his bar.
