Nasarawa Governor’s Son, Hassan Sule Dies 7 Months After Wedding….

Abdullahi Sule, the Nasarawa State Governor, has lost his son, Alhaji Hassan Sule.

Hassan reportedly died after a brief illness.

 

He died seven months after his elaborate wedding to Salamatu Muhammad Odeh, which was held on Saturday, June 25 2022.

The wedding took place at the palace of the Emir of Keffi and was attended by prominent Nigerians including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; Governors of Kano, Ogun and Borno, Abdullahi Ganduje, Dapo Abiodun and Professor Babagana Zulum respectively.

 

According to Vanguard, the lawmaker representing Lafia North Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammed Ibrahim Alkali said he received the news with great shock.

 

In a condolence message to Governor Sule, the lawmaker described the death of his son, Hassan, as a huge loss to the state and Nigeria at large.

 

“I share my deep condolences with His Excellency, Engr Abdullahi A. Sule, over the passing of his beloved son Alh. Hassan. I pray that Allah (SWT) grants him Aljanatul Firdaus and comfort his family,” the statement said.

 

Also, a condolence message signed by the Publisher of Eggonnews, Matthew Kuju and obtained by the newspaper around 5.30 am, reads, “It is with pains in our hearts to learn of the passage of your dear son, Hassan. No doubt, it is very painful when a father has to bury a son, but only Allah can explain such happenings.

 

“We pray May Allah raise him among the righteous and grant him aljannah Firdausi, and may Allah grant the family the fortitude to bear this painful demise.”

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, is dead.

He died at age 81.

Oba Balogun ascended the throne on March 11, 2022, spending only two years as the monarch of the ancient Nigerian city.

His Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, in a statement on Thursday confirmed the monarch’s death, saying, “The passing of Oba Dr. Balogun marks the end of an era for Ibadanland, leaving behind a profound void in its rich history and heritage.”

ALLEGED N2.2BN OIL SUBSIDY FRAUD: COURT ADJOURNS MAMMAN ALI, ONE OTHER’S TRIAL TILL MARCH 25

Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Friday, February 2, 2024, adjourned till March 25, 2024 further hearing in the trial of Mamman Nasir Ali and Christian Taylor, who are facing trial over an alleged N2.2 billion oil subsidy fraud.

The Lagos Zonal Command of the Economical and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had, on Friday, March 24, 2023, re-arraigned the two defendants alongside Nasaman Oil Services Limited on an amended 49-count charge bordering on conspiracy to obtain money by false pretence contrary to Section 8 and 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006, forgery contrary to Section 363 (3)(j) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011; and use of false documents contrary to Section 364 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.

One of the counts reads: “Nasaman Oil Services Ltd, Mamman Nasir Ali, Christian Taylor, Oluwaseun Ogunbambo (now at large) and Olabisi Abdul-Afeez (still at large), on or about the 9th day of November 2011 at Lagos, within the Ikeja Judicial Division, with intent to defraud ,conspired to obtain the sum of N749,991,273.36 (Seven Hundred and Forty-nine Million, Nine Hundred and Ninety-one Thousand, Two Hundred and Seventy-three Naira Thirty-six Kobo) from the Federal Government of Nigeria by falsely claiming that the sum of N749,991,273.36 represented subsidy accruing to Nasaman Oil Services Ltd under the Petroleum Support Fund for the importation of 10,031,986 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), which Nasaman Oil Services Ltd purported to have purchased from SEATAC Petroleum Ltd of British Virgin Islands and imported into Nigeria through MT Liquid Fortune Ltd of British Virgin Islands and imported into Nigeria through MT Liquid Fortune Ltd Ex MT Overseas Lima, which representation you knew to be false.”

Another count reads: “Nasaman Oil Services Ltd, Mamman Nasir Ali, Christian Taylor, Oluwaseun Ogunbambo (now at large) and Olabisi Abdul-Afeez (still at large),on or about the 11th day of April 2011 at Lagos, within the Ikeja Judicial Division, with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N1,480,074,125.61 (One Billion Four Hundred and Eighty Million Seventy-four Thousand, One Hundred and Twenty-five Naira Sixty-one Kobo) from the Federal Government of Nigeria by claiming that the sum represented subsidy accruing to Nasaman Oil Services Ltd under the Petroleum Support Fund for the importation of 20,492,982.50 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS),which Nasaman Oil Services Ltd purported to have purchased from SEATAC Petroleum Ltd of British Virgin Islands and imported into Nigeria through MT Liquid Fortune Ex Mt. Hellenic Blue and Ex MT. Milleura, which representation you knew to be false.”

They pleaded “not guilty” to all the charges preferred against them.

At Friday’s proceedings, prosecution counsel, S.K. Atteh informed the court that one of the witnesses was indisposed, while the other had flight issues. He, therefore, prayed for an adjournment.

There was no objection by the defence counsel, Kolade Obafemi.

Consequently, the Judge adjourned till March 25 and 26, 2024 for continuation of trial.

The defendants were initially standing trial before Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo of a Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja. However, following Justice Onigbanjo’s withdrawal from the case on health grounds, the case was re-assigned to Justice Dada.

Helicopter-Booking Company, Vetifly’s CEO Emmanuel Wisdom Okoh, COO Angel Odumodu Declared Wanted By EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared wanted the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Emmanuel Wisdom Okoh and Chief Operating Officer and board member, Angel Odumodu of Vetifly Global Inc.

The anti-graft agency in a public notice on Wednesday, displaying the photographs of the wanted persons, said, “The public is hereby notified that the persons whose photographs appear above are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged case of Conspiracy, Stealing and Obtaining Money by False Pretense linked to their company – Vetifly Global Inc.

Odumodu is 36 years old, and his last known address is: Plot 6, ELM Street, Osbourne Forshore Estate, Phase 2, Ikoyi, Lagos State.

“Okoh, 37, was last seen at Plot 6, ELM Street, Osbourne Forshore Estate, Phase 2, Ikoyi, Lagos State.”

Vetifly says on its website that it offers helicopter ride services that include intercity shuttle, intracity shuttle, sightseeing experience, and helicopter charter. It also claims to offer private jet charter and luxury pickups.

“We also offer direct flights to bespoke locations of your choice,” it claims.
