Diverse reactions have continued to trail the reports that lawyer and trained management consultant from Anambra State, Sharon Ikeazor, may likely be appointed as Minister of Women Affairs by President Mohammadu Buhari.

Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are grumbling over the fact that Ikeazor has been mired in a volley of controversies.

According to sources, “Her appointment will be a big setback for the All Progressive Congress Party (APC). She is known to be a close ally of the immediate past Petroleum Minister and supporter of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Diezani Allison Madueke, and it is apparent that she will try to use her official position to influence the criminal cases which may soon be brought against Diezani. Besides, many alleged morality in her relationship with men of influence are questionable.

The source spoke further, “As a women leader, she could not even garner enough women during the presidential rallies to campaign for her party. She has apparently converted to Islam to propagate her ambition, believing that Buhari will find a reason in her new faith, to give her the coveted women’s ministry.”

The disenchanted women also claimed that it was Ikeazor who scuttled Aisha Buhari’s outing at the recent UNGA 2015 First Ladies summit as she wanted to be in charge of all the side meetings that had been put up for the wife of the president.
