Wizkid becomes first African Artiste to hit 9 billion streams on Spotify

Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, aka Wizkid, has surpassed 9 billion streams across all credits on Spotify.

He becomes the first African artist to hit this milestone on the platform.

Wizkid’s most streamed song on the platform is his collaborative hit with Canadian powerhouse, Drake and British star Kyla, ‘One Dance’ with 3.7 billion streams.

The song is among the top 10 most streamed songs of all time on Spotify. The song also holds the Guinness World Record for being the first single to surpass 1 billion streams on the platform.

Wizkid’s most streamed lead single on the app is the Tems-assisted ‘Essence’ with over 303 million streams.

American singer, Taylor Swift remains the most streamed artist on Spotify with over 1.5 billion streams.
