Revealed: How Sahara Energy founder, Tonye Cole Allegedly laundered $50m for Amaechi – Wike

Published

on

Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers State, has alleged that Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of the state and APC presidential hopeful, used Tonye Cole, founder of Sahara Energy Group, to divert $50 million belonging to the state government.

Cole is the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for Rivers ahead of the 2023 election.

The governor accused the duo of diverting the sum from Rivers State Government through a sham contract.

Wike who spoke in a live broadcast on Friday after the Supreme Court dismissed Amaechi suit to stop his probe over alleged N96bn fraud, said whether or not he goes ahead with the probe would depend on the leaders of the state.

Mr Wike had set up a panel to probe Mr Amaechi’s dealings after he became Governor and the Supreme Court case was an attempt by Mr Amaechi to set aside the recommendations of the panel.

“If you see that report, as a Rivers man, you’ll cry,” Mr Wike, who is also running for President on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, said on Friday.

“We are not being vindictive, but we have been vindicated,” Mr Wike, Chief of Staff to Amaechi when the latter was Governor said.

“So now the leaders of the state will decide what next step to take; it’s not for only me. Yes, I’m a Governor, but I can’t do it alone. If the leaders of the state says, yes we must prosecute them, I have no choice; but if the leaders say otherwise, I have no choice.”

“One of it was a diversion of $50 million from Rivers State Government to Sahara Energy,” Mr Wike said.

“And the issue became, what did Sahara Energy do for us that we are paying $50 million? Where is the agreement to show we borrowed money from them? Nothing.”

“You said Sahara Energy bought our gas turbines. Why are we paying them $50 million? Did we borrow money from them? Where is the agreement?” he said.

Adaobi Alagwu is parading fake DNA Certificate  ….Tunde Ayeni

The controversy surrounding the paternity of the daughter of Abuja based lady Adaobi Alagwu has once again popped up in the media with her release of a DNA certificate which businessman, Dr Tunde Ayeni emphatically describes as not only compromised but fake.

In a press release, which he personally signed, Dr Ayeni noted: “This lady is being clever by half. She is haunted by her reckless past and is truly desperate. It is this desperation that is pushing her on this journey to infamy and ultimate disgrace.”

“It has become necessary to once again address the persistent and shameful campaign of blackmail, deceit, and defamation orchestrated by Ms. Adaobi Alagwu. When I say the certificate is fake, it is a position informed by indisputable facts. First, the result was meant to be out in five days. Later, a letter, purportedly from the centre, came pushing the date the result will be ready by two extra days. When we cross checked from the centre, they denied knowledge of the said letter and Indian name that signed it. At that point, it became crystal clear to us that the process has been compromised and that the outcome can not be genuine. We have since discovered other nefarious steps taken to come about the so-called DNA certificate.”

He said further: “Despite multiple public statements, legal affirmations, and sworn affidavits unequivocally denying any ties or paternity claims, Ms. Alagwu continues her relentless campaign of falsehoods. Multiple investigations revealed that Ms. Alagwu and her associates hacked into the email accounts of the accredited laboratory responsible for the actual DNA analysis. Their goal was to insert a falsified document to support her baseless claims. People are privy to these facts and in due course it’ll be presented to the appropriate authorities especially now that we are in court”.

The release noted: “For instance, it was not a mere coincidence that it was at the critical point in time when we were expecting the results that Google found out that the email we used had been compromised. At that point, we lost confidence in the process and the centre. It was then we requested for another DNA at another center, which the lady rebuffed” he added.

“Let it be stated clearly that:

* Dr. Tunde Ayeni has no marital connection to Ms. Adaobi Alagwu: This fact has been affirmed repeatedly in official legal documents, including a sworn affidavit.

* The child in question is not Dr Ayeni’s. Ms. Alagwu’s fabricated DNA result contradicts the legitimate, verified results that conclusively establish the absence of any biological relationship. At the appropriate time and place, this evidence will become public knowledge.

* This desperation will lead Adaobi nowhere. If she is confused about the true father of her daughter, she should invite her numerous dates for DNA tests.

* The ongoing blackmail and cyber-attacks boarders on criminal intents and legal actions are ongoing to seek full redress.
