Nobody seems to know her before now, but her appearance at the just concluded 80th birthday party for the banking scion, Otunba Subomi Balogun brought her more closer to the public glare. The whole hall which was packed full with celebrities, and high society players had the likes of Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) and wife, Abimbola, Billionaire Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Wale Tinubu and Abdulsamad Rabiu were all inside that Special Marque at the Tafawa Balewa Square.
None of the super stars mentioned above ruffled any feathers or stole the show. The person who was the cynosure of all eyes was the very little known Olakitan Olubi.
Nobody knew how she got into the strictly-by -invitation event but she did not only cause a stir but ensured that many stared as she walked into the arena.
It was not her height or her complexion! It was her outfit. It was provocative and completely out of a place at such an occasion that was filled with many conservative types.
One person who saw a picture of the outfit said Olakitan should be applauded and not derided for having the impudence and the buoyancy to attend that party in such a dress-and pull it off with a smile.
We agree with that assessment and it must be said that her boldness too may have been aided by her partner. He stuck to her like a K-Squared security guard and a Police Alsatian dog combined throughout the occasion, as she strutted all over the place.
