The city of Lagos was awash with glamour, music, and high society sparkle as popular socialite and businessman, Michael Afolaranmi, popularly known as 12 basket, marked his 50th birthday in an unforgettable and spectacular celebration.
The event, which took place at the prestigious Balmoral Hall Ikeja, on Sunday night, was nothing short of historic.
Sheraton Hotel around the venue was packed as guests poured in from all corners of the country and abroad to honor one of Africa’s most celebrated businessmen and cultural icons.
From Real estate and property developer heavyweights to entertainment megastars, the guest list was a who’s who of Nigerian excellence.
Among the dignitaries were Rasheed Muri Okunola, A Permanent Secretary in Lagos State, Morola Olabisi Babalola, CEO Townsend Property Investment, an achiever in the real estate sector, Surakatu Idiat Eniola, CEO Lafabids Agro, Olanike Solanke CEO NUEVO Nikhipearl Interiors among others who shared warm moment with Michael Afolaranmi’s inspirational journey and enduring legacy.
They were joined by Bimpe Onanubi, founder First Years School Lagos, Mayowa Daniels and other key figures in politics and business sector.
The entertainment world also came out in full force.
Popular comedian MC Ijele delivered an electrifying performance that had guests laughing their sorrow away.
He was joined by Grand comedian of Nigeria GCON Gbenga Adeyinka, who all lit up the night with electrifying jokes and heartfelt tributes to the celebrant.
One of the highlights of the event was the best dressed competition amongst the men and women that attended the shindig, where the winner went home with a whooping 300, 000 naira as prize for dressing according to the dress code of the event.
The atmosphere was buzzed with excitement as dance performance, music, business, and tradition blended seamlessly under one roof.
Michael Afolaranmi, a man whose journey from modest beginnings to the pinnacle of African entrepreneurship has captivated millions, was visibly moved by the outpouring of love.
In his heartfelt address, Michael Afolaranmi expressed gratitude to his family, friends, and loyal supporters for walking the journey with him, while reaffirming his commitment to youth empowerment, cultural promotion, and national development.
Widely regarded as a symbol of the Nigerian dream, Afolaranmi has built an empire with branches at Sura Chopping Complex, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Abuja, with a befitting Headquarters in Lekki.
