King Jerry Nrialike, a respected figure in Africa’s fashion and beauty industry, has continued to distinguish himself as a visionary committed to celebrating African identity and empowering vulnerable communities across the continent through his flagship initiative, Queen of Africa.

With over two decades of experience, King Nrialike’s career began in 2001 when he worked with Mozifu Bell in Nigeria. Since then, he has consistently played key roles in shaping successful projects rather than merely initiating them. His collaboration with Sibu Bell TV produced back-to-back winners, while his mentorship also contributed to the emergence of talents such as Munachi Abi and Ada.

He further served as producer of the Nigerian Slesson Model for four years under the leadership of Joanne Graham, the executive owner of the franchise. Through these platforms, King Nrialike entrenched his long-standing passion for fashion and beauty, noting that his journey had been guided by faith and strengthened by working alongside “beautiful, brilliant women” to bring meaningful visions to life.

That passion culminated in the creation of Queen of Africa, a platform he described as far more than a pageant. According to him, the initiative was designed to give Africa a unified voice, challenge negative stereotypes, and celebrate the continent’s cultural richness and humanity. He stressed that Africa remained one of the most beautiful and accommodating places in the world, yet its people were often denied opportunities to fully express themselves or be fairly represented.

Central to the project’s leadership and success is Chief Lady Gona Orazu, President of the UTO Umuokpu Anambra USA Women Association, who also serves as President of Queen of Africa. A strong advocate for women’s empowerment and African unity, Chief Lady Orazu is one of the major sponsors of the Queen of Africa initiative, lending both leadership and support to its humanitarian vision.

King Nrialike explained that the Queen of Africa would operate through a transparent election process, bringing together representatives from all 54 and potentially 55 African countries to select a Queen who would serve as the symbolic mother and voice of the continent. The Queen’s mandate, he said, would be to speak for the people and respond directly to their needs.

He added that the Queen of Africa would focus on supporting youths, women, men, widows, and aspiring entrepreneurs, not through loans but by providing the tools and resources needed to succeed. While acknowledging the efforts of African leaders, King Nrialike noted that gaps remained at the grassroots level, gaps that the Queen of Africa initiative was designed to address.

The programme is structured as a biennial event, featuring about 19 days of camping and activities, and will be broadcast globally across multiple platforms. Audiences will be able to follow the journey via television, social media, and the official website, www.queenofafrica.tv. The initiative has also secured international partnerships, including Simply Me TV, which has a presence across major global airports, as well as affiliations linked to New York Fashion Week.

In an emotional tribute, King Nrialike honoured the late James Condon, whose support helped connect the Queen of Africa project to New York Fashion Week, where plans had been made for the eventual Queen to become a global fashion face. His passing in November, he said, left a deep impact on the project and its stakeholders.

Through the combined leadership of King Jerry Nrialike and Chief Lady Gona Orazu, Queen of Africa stands as a bold platform for unity, empowerment, and global recognition, reaffirming Africa’s beauty, resilience, and unwavering humanity.
