Kashzone MD, Olasunkanmi Ogundipe Detained in Panti for Fraud

Olasunkami Ogundipe, the Managing Director of Kashzone, an Ikorodu-based money lending firm, has been arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti Lagos for fraud and financial mismanagement.

Ogundipe, had been on the run for some weeks with Kashzone investors’ money worth several millions of Naira, before he was arrested on Wednesday, 29 September, 2021 in Ikorodu.

The case was first handled at Owutu Police Station, Ikorodu, before it was transferred to Panti, considering the enormity of the fraud allegations against Ogundipe.

Olasunkanmi had lured dozens of people to invest their hard earned money in his Kashzone business. The investors are expected to get monthly interests on their fixed deposits, depending on the figure they had deposited.

A check by us revealed that some fixed depositors have up to N4million and above with Kashzone, and things were initially running smooth as they get their monthly interests as at when due.

However, trouble started when Ogundipe began to default with the interests payment. Whenever he’s called by the concerned investors, he started giving varying flimsy reasons for his failure to live up to expectations.

Meanwhile, other directors of Kashzone began to smell foul play when Ogundipe opened new bank accounts and started diverting the company’s funds without their consent.

As pressure continued to mount from depositors, who were expecting their monthly interests payment, Ogundipe suddenly disappeared into thin air and was incommunicado before his eventual arrest.

The accused person is the son of a famous Ikorodu politician and socialite, Chief Martins Kolawole Ogundipe, popularly known as ‘Mart K’.

When our Correspondent called Yomi Ogundipe, the brother of the accused person on phone, he claimed that he was at a site, and can’t respond to the issue.
