A Max Air plane has crash-landed at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano.

The aircraft with registration number 5N-MBD, B733, was said to be arriving from Lagos when the incident occurred at about 10:57pm on Tuesday.

The plane was carrying 53 passengers and six crew members.

One of the passengers who confirmed the incident said the airplane lost its nose landing gear tire during landing.

“Immediately after touchdown, the tire burst and caught fire. The aircraft then skidded to a halt on the runway,” said a passenger who prefers anonymity.

“As we exited the aircraft, firefighters were already on the scene, spraying water to contain the flames.”

We were evacuated immediately, and no report of injury among us,” the passenger added.
