Jaywon-Kennis Music Contract Feud Deepens … Details of his relationship with Imelda J

Published

on

The face-off between management of Kennis Music and singer, Oluwajuwonlo James popularly known as Jaywon, is set to take a new dimension as recent developments reveal the crisis might linger longer than anyone can imagine.
Jaywon, according to reports, has written to Kennis Music management through his lawyer to terminate his contract with the label.
A source who spoke to us said “Iledare Oluwajuwonlo James aka Jaywon has written a letter via his lawyer requesting for his contract with Kennis Music to be terminated.”
The source further disclosed “Jaywon wrote, in the same letter, his readiness and willingness to pay off all costs therein accordingly.”
However, Kennis Music has urged the Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria members and all broadcasters on all platforms to un-list the works either single performances or and collaborations of Jaywon from their respective rotational play lists until the singer’s request to buy over his contract is fully completed to avoid litigation.
Recent reports also have it that the hoax about the relationship between Jaywon and Benue State budding singer Imelda J was a publicity stunt.
A press statement announcing the relationship between the two was accompanied with pictures of Jaywon in intimate positions with Imelda. We have confirmed that the press release was from Imelda J’s management team to create buzz for her upcoming song which features Jaywon.
The press release had also claimed that Jaywon bought a Chrysler automobile for the female singer as a Christmas gift.
‘Jaywon, who is more keen to settle down, has proved his readiness by spoiling the singer with a Chrysler automobile as a Christmas gift and recorded a single with her and also paid for the video,’ the press statement read.
A source has, however, revealed that the car was bought by Imelda J herself back in November 2013.
‘She bought the car on her birthday in November last year; she bought the car for N3 million. That same day she received a gold wristwatch worth $1,000 from one of her maternal aunt,’ the source revealed.
Imelda J is a Lagos based and Benue State born singer who made little wave with her single ‘Bum Bum’. She hails from Ogbadibo Local Government of Benue State. According to sources, she is rumoured to be dating one of the political heavy weights in Benue State which give her many contacts and high level clearances.
‘She is a regular visitor at the Benue State Government House. She has top level contacts in the state. When she did her album launch last year in Markudi, the Governor of the state Gabriel Suswam was already sitting at the Isa Aminu Kotango Theater, the venue of the album launch a few hours before the event started. That will tell you how close she is to the big boys in Benue State,’ the source further revealed.
Jaywon’s manager also confirmed that his client is not in a relationship with the Benue State born singer.
‘Jaywon and Imelda J just collaborated on a song, they are not dating,’ Shola Ijanusi confirmed.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, is reportedly on the run as the Ogun State Government arraigned nine of his associates for assaulting officials.

The singer’s proteges were arraigned on Thursday before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court.

The Ogun State Police Command accused the suspects of assaulting government officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

The suspects, identified as Oluwaseun Ayenuwa, 19; Precious Ohiegebo, 19; Oluwapelumi Adeosun, 20; Gospel Kanu, 20; Nurudeen Warris, 21; Adetola Alashe, 25; Fatimo Muhammed, 26; Ifeoluwa Babatunde, 27; and Samuel Adeleke, 28, were arraigned on a five-count charge of armed violence with cutlasses and guns, felony, obstruction, assault, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and intent to kill.

However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Police Prosecutor Sunday Ekong told the court that the defendants committed the offences alongside Portable around 10:00 am on Wednesday at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu, Sango-Ota, in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

Ekong explained that the singer, who is currently at large, unlawfully restricted, obstructed, and assaulted town planners Ramon Lateef, Akinpelumi Oyero, and Abidemi Onabanjo while they were performing their lawful duties at Odogwu Bar, a business owned by Portable.

The prosecutor noted that the defendants were armed with dangerous weapons and had the intent to kill the officers.

The charges violated sections 516, 356(3), 80, 249(d), and 320 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State, 2006.

In her ruling, Justice O.M. Somefun granted the defendants bail in the sum of N5 million each, with sureties who are licensed bond agents registered with the state government.

The case was further adjourned until March 17 for hearing.

The incident reportedly stemmed from the sealing of Portable’s uncompleted hotel and building by the ministry over illegal development without necessary permits.

SOCIETY REPORTERS recalls that the singer had called out the government officers for arresting his customers and vandalizing his bar.
