Former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Victor Akande is dead.

Akande, a lawyer, died on Wednesday, 30 July, 2025.

We learnt that the late Akande might have died from complications resulting from an auto crash he had last week in Ojo, Lagos state.

Akande was a two-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, having been elected to represent Ojo State Constituency I between 2015 and 2023, that is the 8th and the 9th Assembly.

Akande was first elected into the House in 2015 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 8th Assembly.

He later defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on the floor on which platform he was re-elected in 2019.

Akande served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Justice, Human Rights, Public Petitions and LASIEC during his sojourn in the House.

He lost his bid for a third term in office when he was defeated at the APC primaries in 2022 by the incumbent lawmaker representing Ojo State Constituency I, Honourable Olusegun Ege.
