Joke Bakare, the founder of popular Medplus Pharmacy has walked out of her marriage.
Emerging details have it that Joke took a walk from marriage to Muyiwa Bakare, the man who was Managing Director when the license of Metropolitan Bank was revoked over ‘’irreconcilable differences’’.
Muyiwa’s father Chief Olakunle Bakare of the Oluwalogbon Motors fame was the power behind the bank which lost its license over multiple- and damning – infractions of banking rules.
We gathered that Muyiwa’s marriage has been bedeviled with different shades of crisis for a while before his wife walked away.
The checks conducted here and there revealed that it didn’t help the crisis rocking the union that a lavish 50th birthday Muyiwa staged for his wife in late 2017 resulted in debtors hounding him all over town for debts accumulated in the course of multiple business undertakings including as the Managing Director of real estate firm, Caldwell Nigeria Limited.
‘’Obviously, rather than help the situation, the birthday celebration only compounded issues as the backlash also negatively rubbed off on Joke’s status as a popular pharmacist and her company Medplus as a leading Pharmacy’’ we learned.
