Crainsten Partners issue caveat emptor over sale of aircraft

The law firm, Cranston Partners, has issued an advisory to would-be buyers of an aircraft at the center of what they described as an “ongoing dispute over ownership and authority to transfer title.”

The advisory was contained in a press statement titled: “Caveat Emptor – Aircraft Ownership Contention (Global Jurisdiction)” and signed by Charles B. Ndiomu Jr. 

The aircraft in question is “M-MYNA (GLEX6000) with aircraft serial No. Global 6000 SN9471 registered in the Isle of Man.”

The statement warns prospective buyers to “conduct independent title and authority verification and comply with applicable aviation regulations in all relevant jurisdictions,” because as the statement notes “public records do not conclusively establish title or the right to sell.”

Noting that there is no publicly disclosed liens or encumbrances around the aircraft at the Isle of Man registry, the advisory cautions that interested buyers should err on the side of caution and “verify across all registries and jurisdictions.”

No liens or encumbrances are publicly disclosed in the Isle of Man registry to date; verify across all registries and jurisdictions.
