ome concerned Oyo State Indigenes, and youth group have nominated Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in charge of Corporate Services, Mr. Bayo Adekola Adelabu as the next governor of the state in the 2019 guber race.

The group according to information reaching Society Reporters NG, which comprises enlightened indigenes of the state from all walks of life, said the choice of Adelabu, a grandson of First Republic politician, Chief Adegoke Adelabu a.k.a Penkelemesi was based on his humanitarian services he had been rendering to the people of the state.

It would be recalled that Adelabu has over the years invested in human capital in the state, so also has he made some significant investment in the development of entertainment and hospitality in the state capital Ibadan.

When he completed one of the best hotel the city can be proud of, Bayse-One Hotel, some people were wondering what his intension was but it was made known when he eventually completed another multi-million naira complex/event, Bayse-One checkmate Plaza in the same axis that people now attach his generousity to his intention to run for governor of the state in the next guber race.

Society Reporters reliable source justified Adelabu’s choice, citing different strategic social interventions, which he said, the Bayo Adelabu Foundation had provided for the indigenes of the state since it was established few years back.

The source disclosed that Adelabu “has been providing portable water project across the nooks and crannies of the state, though without political ambition. This is not incidental but a trait, as he took after his grandfather, who was an incorruptible and selfless philanthropist during his lifetime.”

Born on September 28, 1970 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, young Adebayo Adekola Adelabu, now Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor, Corporate Services, attended Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan before proceeding to the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife to study Accountancy.

Just like his late grandfather who scored firsts in virtually everything he laid his hands upon, he graduated with a first class honours in 1992 and later went on to pass his final qualifying examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). After two decades of joining ICAN as an associate member, he has risen to become a fellow member of the institute.
