Chairman, Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has won his polling unit for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Saturday’s bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
Alli voted at unit 022, Ward 3, Oke Aremo area.
The lawmaker represents Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the APC at the National Assembly
The result was announced a few hours after the election.
The APC scored a total of 49 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, secured a total of 31 votes.
Senator Alli, who is also the Ekaarun Balogun of Ibadanland, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the election.
The APC chieftain also used the opportunity to commend both the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies for maintaining orderliness.
