Prominent property magnate and philanthropist, Princess (Dr) Rosula Osula Mku-Atu has felicitated Christians across the country as they join their brethren around the world in celebrating the Easter festival.
She noted that Easter is one of the most important events in the Christian calendar, as it symbolises the celebration of the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In her message, the blue-blood philanthropist urged Christians to emulate the virtues that Jesus Christ exemplified during His impactful sojourn on earth. She stressed that Jesus Christ stood for peace, joy, love, tolerance, sacrifice, humanity, obedience and perseverance, adding that these virtues, when inculcated by people, would help in strengthening unity and progress in the society.
Princess Mku-Atu encouraged Nigerians to continue to work and pray for the peace and unity of the country. She noted that the actualisation of the Nigeria of our dream requires hope, perseverance, love and sacrifice. This, she said, is especially imperative in our own case where diversity in tongues and religion have made the task complex.
“As we join our Christian brothers and sisters in Nigeria and across the world to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We must always appreciate the significance of what Easter stands for and use the period to work and pray for the country’s revival as well as its unity.
“And coming at a time when the Muslim faithful are also observing the Ramadan fast, this season should serve as a period to come together and live in harmony.
“We must also not relent in our efforts of promoting tolerance and peaceful co-existence amongst the populace, especially at a time the government is doing all it can to in its efforts to provide security and an enabling environment for economic growth and prosperity,” she said.
