Nkeiru Silvanus to Officially Open Imo Film Academy Nov 14…..

Brilliant Nollywood actress Nkeiruka Silvanus was recently appointed the Director General of The Imo State Film Academy(IFACA), and she is about to resume duty.

Her appointment came following plans by the Imo Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to set up a befitting Film Academy in Owerri, the state’s capital which is hope to be beneficial not only to Imo state Indigenes but Nigerians at large.

November 14, 2014 has now been picked for the official opening of the academy and according to information, the event is expected to attract many masters of the arts including top government functionary who will be on ground to witness the epoch-making event.

Ms Silvanus was the SA Lagos Affairs, then SA Public Affairs to the Imo state government, and it’s a new dawn for the youths she’ll be expected to bring her previous magic touches and her wealth of experience as a movie expert to further transform the state’s movie industry and Nigeria in general.

“The Imo Film Academy is an initiative of His Excellency, Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha, a man of vision, a leader
per excellency. The need for Imo Film Academy became very necessary and important because of his passion and love for talent and entertainment industry with the hope that it will improve, harness and create a platform to empower the youths just like he is been doing in other sectors,” the DG said.

Nkeiru speaks further and according to her, this project is not for Imo states indigenes alone; it is for Nigerians as a whole.

“The entertainment industry needs more of this lofty idea and the Imo Film Academy will create an enabling environment for film making, train, educate and equip men for better acting. We will prepare them to be leaders for the industry, and more importantly it will all culminate into creative employment opportunities for the people in imo state and Nigeria at large.”

The actress who recently premiered her high definition Thriller/Adventure film ‘The Voice”, in Lagos says the academy is created to open up training in different categories like Photography, Acting, Cinematography, Directing, Voice-over Voice Training, Script Writing, Costume Make Up, Set/Prop, Lightning, Continuity Screenplay, Video Editing e.t.c
