NIGERIA’S VICE PRESIDENT OSINBAJO TURNS OFF COMMENT ON INSTAGRAM PAGE AS WAR AGAINST HIM THICKENS

These are not the best of times for the once seeming bubbling Vice President of Africa’s oil-rich country, Mr. Yemi Osibanjo, as the battle to consume him seem to have finally made him quit what he loves doing most, which is posting on social media platforms. Mr. Osibanjo who is deputy to Nigeria’s President, General Muhammadu Buhari has been in the news of recent with traditional media reporting on his possible resignation to pave way for a popular pastor and Buhari’s long-time confidant, Pastor Tunde Bakare, over yet to be disclosed offenses.

Following the quiet to unruffling of the VP which has led to condemnation on his person by Nigerians for being too weak and deserving of the treatment meted out to him by the presidential cabal through his various social media handles, he has gone ahead to stop Nigerians from commenting on his Instagram posts.

A visit to his Instagram page shows that all posts from last year are now limited with no one allowed to post fresh comments, while comments on new posts are not allowed by those not praising him. His posts of yesterday were not opened to Nigerians to comment on and when finally opened on Sunday, he limited it only to people talking well of him. Attempts by our correspondent to comment were denied.

In a sane society, Osibanjo can be dragged to court for stopping citizens from expressing their views on his page. This is precedent on the landmark judgment against President Donald Trump of the United States of America who was dragged to court by a citizen for blocking her on Twitter, a case she won, forcing Trump to unblock her.
