Nigeria Army hands over 20 TASUED students to EFCC in Ogun

The Nigeria Army has handed over 20 students of the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC in Ogun State.

The officers of the 12 Field Engineering Regiment in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, took the suspected internet fraudsters to EFCC Ibadan zonal command.

The students were reportedly arrested during a face-off last Thursday, November 28, 2021, with soldiers as they celebrated the end of their final examination.

The EFCC director of Media, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the handover in a statement released on Monday, November 1, 2021.

The suspects are Azeez Hameed Busayo, Olubor Chuks Winner, Amusa Abdulhakeem, Osoko Adesola David, Diyaolu Daniel Damilola, Olunlade Quadri Olamilekan, Amaje Kelly Armstrong.Akorede Olaleye Tope, Owonifari Niyi Sanwiyu.

Others are, Ganiyu Olamide Sodiq, Onasanya Taiwo Adeniyi, Ajayi Muhaymin Adesola, Asenuga Ridwan Ayotomiwa, Bamgboye Tobiloba Quadri, Ayede Opeyemi Oluwaseun, Oseni Abolore Ismail, Olaniyan Mayowa Emmanuel, Akanni Qudus Olaleye and Onasile Abiodun Sunday.

The EFCC spokesman also revealed that eleven vehicles, twenty-nine phones and hard drugs were recovered from the suspects although the cars are still in the custody of the Army.

Uwujaren also stated that 19 of the 20 students have been indicted in the ongoing investigation adding that they will be charged to court at the end of the inquiry.
