As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence anniversary, renowned entrepreneur and hospitality expert Lanre Jimoh, popularly known as Laredo, has joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the nation’s journey of resilience, unity, and growth.

In his Independence message, Laredo expressed pride in Nigeria’s progress despite its challenges, describing the milestone as “a reminder of our collective strength and boundless potential.” He urged citizens to remain hopeful and continue contributing positively to the nation’s development.

Founder of Laredo Small Chops, one of Lagos’s most recognized finger-food brands, Laredo has built a reputable career spanning the catering and entertainment industries. Remarkably, his flagship small chops business will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year, underscoring his dedication, innovation, and commitment to quality service.

Laredo also took the opportunity to acknowledge and express heartfelt appreciation for two remarkable individuals who have played pivotal roles in his personal and professional journey — His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu, the esteemed Oba of Lagos, and Alhaji Musiliu Adeola Smith, the distinguished retired Inspector General of Police.

“Their mentorship and fatherly support have not only inspired me but also helped mold me into the person I am today,” he said. “I am profoundly grateful for their kindness, generosity, and leadership, especially as they stepped in as fatherly figures following my father’s passing in 1988.”

He described Oba Akiolu and Alhaji Smith as “pillars of support, guidance, and wisdom” whose influence continues to inspire him and many others in Lagos.

“I sincerely wish them long life, good health, and continued blessings,” Laredo added. “May Allah always bless and guide them on their remarkable paths.”

Reflecting on the Independence celebration, Laredo reaffirmed his commitment to promoting unity, youth empowerment, and nation-building through his businesses and community engagements.

“Nigeria’s story is one of hope,” he said. “As we celebrate 65 years of independence, I look forward to a future where our collective dreams shine even brighter.”
