Many did not know that popular Lagos Socialite, Elebuibon Funmilola Gbemi, graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University with an (LLB), then she passed through the Nigerian Law School (BL), so today, one can safely say that Funmi is a fulfilled woman. When asked how she felt penultimate Tuesday, when she was finally called to the Nigerian Bar and is now fully qualified to practice the legal profession in Nigeria, she has this to say, “I am a lady who puts in everything to achieve her goals, I love God a lot. For me it’s a dream come true, because I had always dreamed of being a lawyer, to have a voice and speak for the oppressed in the society. This journey didn’t start today, in fact, series of events in my life have shaped who I am today and what my aspirations have become. I have learnt not to underestimate what I can do, through hard work and lots of practice one can become a better person in life”. However, Funmilola also loves other things besides the legal profession, “I love fashion as well. I aspire to continue to learn new things, I love writhing a lot and I would love to write one or two books later in the future. Possibly as a way of reaching out to the public. I will try to keep challenging myself”, the excited newest legal practitioner said.
