Jibrin Barau, Ganduje, others depart for Madina to attend Dantata’s burial

Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, and former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, on Monday evening departed Abuja for Madina, Saudi Arabia, to pay their final respects at the burial of renowned elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.

This was disclosed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Deputy Senate President, Ismail Mudashir.

Dantata, a towering figure in Nigerian business and philanthropy, will be laid to rest on Tuesday in the Islamic holy city, where he reportedly passed away.

The statement partly read, “The delegation departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at approximately 9 p.m. The delegation includes Kano APC Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas; Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND, Senator Muntari Dandutse and the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Ali Madaki.

“Others are the members of the House of Representatives, Makoda/ Dambatta Federal Constituency of Kano State, Eng Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, the son of Alhaji Aminu Dantata, Ahmad Munzali Dantata, Usman Yahaya Kansila, and Hon. Sani Bala, among others.

“Also on the entourage are Hon. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, representing Makoda/Dambatta Federal Constituency; Hon. Sani Bala; Ahmad Munzali Dantata, son of the deceased; and Usman Yahaya Kansila, among others.”

The late Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a respected statesman and one of Nigeria’s most influential industrialists, was widely admired for his contributions to national development and philanthropy.

His death marks the end of an era for Northern Nigeria’s business and political elite.
