We gathered that the aggrieved workers on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 convened at Sanya Truck Pack in Lagos to deliberate on their unpaid salaries and they were attacked by thugs.
One of the victims, Mr. Akujobi Ozoemena Barnaby has written a petition to the Lagos Zone 2 of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) about the attack.
Besides, two officials of the Campaign for Democratic and Workers’ Rights (CDWR), Comrade Chinedu Bosah and Comrade Rufus Olusesan who were part of the meeting were beaten up by the thugs.
Mr. Uzoma Njoku and other workers who were attacked by the thugs are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
We gathered that some of the workers rushed to Festac Police Station to lodge complaints during the attack and the policemen on duty refused to intervene. Sources said that it took the intervention of some military men attached to OP MESA to rescue the workers.
