Unfortunately for the High Chief, some ‘boys’ loyal to another aspirant, Rotimi Ajanaku who had earlier had a confrontation with Saheed Fijabi sighted the elderly man and an argument ensued.

Eye witness confirmed to papermacheonline that Chief Fijabi was badly beaten, he was injured on his head and leg, ‘sadly his son also lost the election’, the source lamented.

Saheed Fijabi polled 23,019 against the winner, Stanley Olajide who scored 23,964.

The last election was Fijabi’s second attempt to return to the House of Representatives of the Ibadan Northwest/Southwest.

It was reported that Chief Fijabi, a close friend of Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde has reported the attack to security agencies and also the Olubadan of Ibadan.
