Popular Aba socialite and engineer of high repute Chief Chidi Ahuekwe have been reported dead.
According to information reaching Society Reporters, Chief Chidi, 58, died on his way to the hospital on Monday 6, August 2018. Further reports gathered by us revealed that he died of hypertension.
Engineer Chidi, popularly known as Amicable in the Abia state social circle, until his death is the owner of ChikweTech Engineering Company, a good bread company whose specialty is in road construction and drainage repairs.
A very dependable source from the Obingwa area of the state hinted Society Reporters that his death couldn’t have been natural if the governor of the state, Governor Ikpeazu had paid him his money owed from the several projects he was contracted for by the state government.
We gathered that the government of Ikpeazu owed him huge debt running to over N400million, all accrued from a different project he did for the state in Aba, and he kept going for elusive payment, and they weren’t getting any new jobs to offset the huge debt owed the bank.
A government source in Abia state government house who confided in us hinted that his payment was intentionally delayed and held on to by the commissioner for works in Abia state, Eziuche Chinwe Ubani, who has the support of the Governor Ikpeazu to punish the deceased for a reason not known to many.
“Chief Chidi is from Obingwa local government area of Abia State, and that is the same area the governor hails from, but Governor Ikpeazu recently felt the late Chief Chidi is not supporting his government, hence the reason they decided to punish him with his completed projects funds.
The source also added that “ the late Chief Chidi cleared drainages in Aba and its environs, He knew and mastered the Aba underground drainage system. He was a resource person to Setraco and other contractors” the Government of Ikpeazu made good use of his brain and dumped him” and this might be what led to his death; He flows.
We further gathered that the pressure from the banks where the late chief got the loan to achieve the projects of the Aba drainages had been on his neck to start servicing his loan but all effort to get the government refund was abortive, and this we gathered led to his sudden high blood pressure that steered to his death.
Our Aba source further hinted us that several other contractors are being owed, even contracts awarded and executed from the previous administration of Senator TA Orji. We gathered that some of these contractors are gearing towards going to court as at the time of filing this report.
