HOUSING FRAUD: COURT SUMMONS OONI OF IFE’S BROTHER, TUNJI OGUNWUSI

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) arm of the Lagos High Court yesterday summoned Mr. Tunji Ogunwusi, an elder brother to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi.
The court took the decision when the case between some Lagos journalists and Primewaterview Holdings came up for hearing at the Lagos Multidoor ADR, Igbosere, with the mediator, Mrs. Dupe Ogunsanwo, urging interested parties to appear at the next sitting in their own interest in order to find an amicable resolution to the case.

Out of the six defendants, only the NUJ was present while the duo of Ify Omowole and Deji Elumoye were represented by their counsel, Yinka Kalejaye. However, no one came from Primewaterview Holdings of Tunji Ogunwusi, under whose chairmanship, the project began.

When Ogunsanwo advised that the presence of the key individuals involved was very important, Kalejaye said that his clients could not appear in person because they were working in Abuja.
Ogunsanwo strongly advised that it would be in their own interest to appear in person on March 13, 2019.

The lawyer to Primewaterview Holdings, who chose the date for yesterday’s hearing, did not show up.
The parties present later agreed on March 13 at noon for the next hearing.

Meanwhile, following the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ’s directive at its inaugural meeting held in Abuja recently, the Lagos State Council of NUJ has started the reallocation of plots of land to its members.
Speaking on behalf of other allottees, Alhaji Sulaiman Ajayi of Lagos Ministry of Information commended the Akinreti-led executive for taking the giant stride of letting people have access to their land, saying, “It is a big relief and a major step forward.”
