The Federal Government has announced an upward review of the fees for the Nigerian International Passport, raising them to between ₦100,000 and ₦200,000. This development will take effect on September 1, 2025.

The Nigeria Immigration Service spokesman, AS Akinlabi, disclosed the change in a statement on Thursday. Akinlabi explained the increment aims to ensure the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard.

New Fee Structure and Why it’s Happening

The review, which only affects application fees made in Nigeria, sets new thresholds. A 32-page with a five-year validity will now cost ₦100,000, and a 64-page with a 10-year validity will cost ₦200,000.

However, fees for Nigerian passport applications made by Nigerians in the diaspora will remain unchanged. A 32-page with a five-year validity still costs $150, and a 64-page with a 10-year validity remains at $230.

The Nigeria Immigration Service emphasized its commitment to balancing quality service delivery with the need to ensure passport services are accessible to all Nigerians.
