BUKOLA SARAKI: I HAVE A LOT TO LOSE POLITICALLY IF THIS GOVERNMENT FAILS

Contrary to rumours flying around the political scene that Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki is anti-Buhari and is working against the interest of the APC government. Senator Bukola Saraki, has debunked such stories, insisting that his ultimate desire is to see the Buhari administration succeed.

Reminding the interviewer of his efforts of support during the president’s absence

Saraki while granting a media interview to Daily Trust emphasised his loyalty to the president and the APC. He also claimed that some powerful people in and outside the government do not support the position he took, which is to ensure the success of the Buhari administration and are therefore working on defaming his person and inciting unnecessary political tension.

Reminding the interviewer about his support for President Buhari during his absence, “Who was it who stood up resolutely and said Mr. President will be back and that there is no cause for alarm? I don’t think a man who is not loyal to you will do that. We know some people who went to London and saw President Buhari, but they just left. They did not say anything.”

“My message to all our party’s supporters is that I am committed, that whatever we promised Nigerians, we will deliver.”

Saraki stated clearly that it was important that the government does not fail because he brought some party supporters with him to APC and so could not afford to fail because of them. “We must be able to go back to them and tell them that that journey was worth it. If God forbid this government fails, what will I go back and tell them? It is in my personal political interest to see that this government succeeds.”
