APC national chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda loses mother

The National Chairman of the Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has lost his mother, Lydia Yilwatda.

Lydia Yilwatda died at the age of 83 on Saturday at Jos University Teaching Hospital.

APC, Plateau State Publicity Secretary, Shittu Bamaiyi confirmed her death in a statement at the weekend.

According to him, the death is a loss to the state and Nigeria.

“APC in Plateau State received with shock the sad news of the death of the mother of its National Chairman, Mama Lydia Yilwatda,” he stated.

This comes weeks after Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda emerged as the APC national chairman in July 2025 after the resignation of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
