Akin Eric-Garuba is a seasoned Nigerian aviation professional with over two decades of experience spanning airline operations, aviation marketing, airport management, pilot training development, and logistics. His career has been built on a strong foundation of operational excellence, business development, and a passion for developing the next generation of aviation professionals.
His aviation journey began at Fresh Airlines Limited, founded by Capt. Augustine Okon, former owner of the defunct ADC Airlines. During his five-year tenure, he worked under the leadership of experienced aviation administrator Mr. Amos Akpan, the airline’s Managing Director, gaining hands-on expertise in airline operations and management.
He later joined Afriqiyah Airways, the national carrier of Libya, as Brand Marketing Head until 2006. In this role, he led key marketing initiatives and significantly strengthened the airline’s presence and brand recognition within the Nigerian aviation market.
In 2007, he moved to Capital Airlines Limited as Station Manager at Ilorin International Airport. There, he oversaw station operations and customer service, further deepening his expertise in both airport and airline management.
Following his airline career, he founded Iceland E Logistics Ltd, a company focused on logistics, aviation consultancy, and business development.
In 2015, Iceland E Logistics Ltd was officially appointed as the Country Representative of Mach 1 Flying Academy. In 2021, a Helicopter Pilot Training Center in South Africa also appointed the company, marking a major milestone in its commitment to aviation training. Since then, the organization has successfully guided and recruited aspiring Nigerian pilots, many of whom are now flying professionally with respected airlines across Nigeria.
With extensive aviation experience and international exposure, Akin Eric-Garuba has worked and consulted across several countries including Ghana, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Kenya, São Tomé and Príncipe, Liberia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates, where he also accumulated five years of professional work experience.
Today, his focus is on expanding strategic partnerships with reputable flight training organizations across Africa to provide world-class pilot training opportunities for young aspiring aviators. Through Iceland E Logistics Ltd, he remains committed to advancing aviation development, fostering international collaborations, and helping shape the future of Africa’s aviation industry.
