Ajoke Onitolo, the Councillor representing the good people of Afariogun ward, in a remarkable show of compassion and leadership, has empowered elderly residents in Afariogun ward of Oshodi/Isolo Local Government area of Lagos with a massive food distribution initiative.
The empowerment program, which took place on September 12, 2025, was distributed at her office at the local government secretariat.
Each recipient received a food package consisting of rice, garri, beans, and noodles—carefully selected to meet basic nutritional needs and provide immediate relief from the prevailing economic strain affecting vulnerable groups.
Speaking during the distribution, hon. Ajoke Onitolo emphasized her unwavering commitment to supporting the elderly, whom she described as the “pillars of wisdom and experience” in the community.
“This initiative is my way of saying thank you to our elders, who have contributed so much to our society. They deserve our care, respect, and continuous support,” she said.
The elderly beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative.
The food distribution covered all five administrative zones in Afariogun ward, with representatives from each zone present to coordinate and ensure smooth delivery to beneficiaries.
