Aiteo staff Sanusi Mohammed, and Kamilu Bakare, popularly known as “Baba Dudu,” are facing criminal charges over an alleged ₦18 million land fraud, issuance of dud cheques, and forcible entry into disputed property in Lagos.

According to the charges, Sanusi, Bakare and other suspects still at large allegedly deceived businessman Onyeka Egwudo of Hunds Oil Ltd into believing they were the rightful owners of a plot of land at Ajakaye Village, Sangotedo, Eti-Osa Local Government Area, collecting ₦18 million for the property despite allegedly knowing the claim was false.

The prosecution also accused the AITEO Staff Sanusi Mohammed of issuing two Zenith Bank cheques worth a combined ₦14.584 million to Egwudo in an attempt to repay the money.

However, the cheques were allegedly returned unpaid because there were insufficient funds in the account.

In a separate count, Sanusi, Bakare and other suspects are accused of forcibly entering the disputed land, which prosecutors say was already in the peaceful possession of Egwudo, an act alleged to have been capable of causing a breach of the peace.

The defendants are now facing multiple criminal charges, including obtaining money by false pretence, issuing dishonoured cheques, and forcible entry.
