The Provost of the  Delta State College of Health Technology, Ofuoma-Ughelli, Mrs Agnes Olojoba has been alleged to be at the middle of a multi-million naira financial crisis rocking the institution.

Authoritative sources revealed that the lead was blown open when the Provost battled to dissolve the Governing Council of the College which was inaugurated by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the month of January, this year.

According to the impeccable sources who does not want their names in print, the Provost felt aggrieved that the Governing Council was not giving her the free hand to continue with her sleazy nature as the Council insisted that approvals must pass through due process and must be transparent.

“My brother, it was a coup that backfired and it opened a can of warm on how Madam (Provost) was collecting money from the school running into millions of Naira without following financial procedures.   The Governing Council ensured that she was confirmed as Provost but, because of the huge amount that passed through her hands when she was acting, she mobilized funds and started lobbying influential people in government to dissolve the governing council, saying she was not having the free hand to operate.”

“The Chairman, Dr (Nelson) Ejakpovi was not aware of all that she was doing but, God saved him and the state government set up a committee to look at the activities of the College and she could not account for more than one hundred million naira which she spent within a period of less than six months before the Governing Council was set up.”

In a telephone chat, the Provost confirmed allegations of financial scam rocking the College saying, “I beg o, the Governing Council is handling the matter, please o, don’t publish, don’t let the public know about it o.”

A visit to the state auditor general’s office at Ezenei Avenue revealed that the accounts of the College has been audited and the Provost was indicted but, there were plans to cover up the scam.

A reliable source in the office said, “that woman (the Provost) knows how to pull the strings sha, she has very powerful people protecting her and Oga, the Auditor-General had to personally be involved in the auditing of the accounts.  The report has been submitted, if it was another person that was involved, by now that woman for dey suspension or sacked.  Governor Okowa is aware of what is going on and the way he handles the matter will determine how we do our work.
