Nollytainment To Partner With Silicon Valley Company To Introduce NOLLYCLOUD

Published

………. a Revolutionary Wireless Movie Download App That Does Not Use Internet Data Or Bandwidth

In a game changing development for Video and Movie industry, Nollytainment Inc, the promoters of the Nollycoin Cryptocurrency, announced its intention to Partner with a Silicon Valley Tech Company To introduce Nollycloud, a new proprietary technology that would allow video and movie users to download huge data files from the internet to their Phones, Laptop or desktop devices, with lightening-fast speed, without using any part of their internet bandwidth subscription ……

Industry experts are saying this technology would be a major disruptor in the way movies are being distributed, downloaded, and watched in Africa and other development countries with slow and expensive internet access.

Prior to this breakthrough Video-Download Technology called NollyCloud, a major problem limiting the access to movies from the internet in many countries, particularly in Africa and other Developing Countries, is the time, cost and bandwidth often required to download movies to the mobile phones or computers of consumers

Typically, with the annoyingly slow and erratic internet services in most developing nations, to download a full length 2-hour movie from the internet will typically take anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours depending on the time of the day. The process will also eat up huge chunks of the expensive internet access bandwidth of the user. For instance, a 2 hour movie will typically consume about 2 gigs of internet data.

This is a huge cost in an environment where a 2-Gig internet device would cost about $10 or more (most internet services in africa and other developing nations do NOT have unlimited internet access plans. You are charged per data used)

To make matters worse for internet users, more often than not, the movie downloading process is often interrupted before it was fully downloaded because of the erratic and unstable internet service in most parts of the developing nations. When that happens the user would lose the bandwidth already used before the download attempt. The user would then have to start all over again by using up another 2 gigs of data to download the same 2 hour movie or video that failed.

Needless to say this has become a very frustrating and expensive exercise for movie lovers, as well as those who want to download video training materials from the internet.

Due to this highly frustrating process, most mobile users in africa would not even consider watching movies online or buying movies to download and watch later. This in turn has severely limited the reach and scope of the movie industry and video training industries in developing nations

However, with the proprietary breakthrough technology in the NollyCloud, this expensive and frustrating problem has now been solved in a way that is nothing short of amazing.

With NollyCloud App, mobile and Desktop users no longer need to use any part of their internet service data to download full length movies or access huge videos from the internet. This breakthrough technology completely bypasses regular internet service and the conventional WiFi . It uses a proprietary download access protocol that is independent of how much data a user has with his/her internet service.

In addition, users can now download heavy duty data of a full 2-hour or more movies within 1 minute or less! In order words a process that would typically take over 60 minutes, and several restart attempts, could now be accomplished in less than 60 seconds.

Once the movie is downloaded through the NollyCloud App on the users phone or desktop, these movies can be watched seamlessly from the app without the annoying buffering or interruptions that one often got with other popular video player services like YouTube, Vimeo or others.

The video player inbuilt into the NollyCloud app let’s the user play the video as if it’s was fully loaded on his/her hard drive computer, Phone or Laptop without any interruptions! Once downloaded, the movie stays on the app and can be watched at anytime on the app, and as many times as the users want, without using even a single bite of their internet service

Dr Ope Banwo, Founder/Ceo of Nollytainment was ecstatic about this major breakthrough in the movie distribution, download and consumption experience. According to him “We are so blessed to be the first company to partner with a tech company solve a major problem that has limited the growth and development of the movie industry in developing nations where the cost of internet access is ridiculously expensive and prohibitive for users. Many people who have been prevented from being able to download and enjoy full length movies on their mobile phones, laptops or desktops can now do so with astounding speed at not cost of internet bandwidth. I honestly can’t overstate the importance of this app to the growth of the movie industry”.

The NollyCloud is being postioned to be one of the key products in the Nollytainment blockchain ecosystem. The NollyCloud App would be available initially as an exclusive utility for holders of the Nollycoin Cryptocurrency

The official rollout of the NollyCloud has been tentatively fixed for the 1st week of August as part of the schedule of the unveiling of the different pieces of the Nollytainment Ecosystem.

Apart from the game changing NollyCloud App , other components of the Nollytainment ecosystem include:Nolly Cinemas (Blockchain enabled screening of movies at cinemas); NollyFlix ( An online Movie Streaming Platform that has been described by knowledgeable observers as a kind of Netflix on Steroids); NollyMall ( An Amazon styled Marketplace for entertainment products and services ); Nolly Academy ( An online and offline training and certification platform for aspiring entertainers, industry technicians and support personnel ); Nolly Crowdfund — (A special crowdfunding platform for movie producers) . This will help qualifying producers raise funds for their projects through their fan base.

Actor Junior Pope Odonwodo has died.

According to reports, four actors including Junior Pope fell into Anam River in Anambra State, on their way to a movie location and their bodies have been recovered.

The actor had earlier shared a video of himself and others on a boat, on their way to the movie location.

Captioning the video, he wrote: “See me lamenting….The risk we take to entertain you; crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket…. Na wahooooo Who does that ??”

Some of his colleagues reacted in the comment section of the video shortly after his death was announced.

“Jesus! Oh Lord! Oh Lord,” Tana Adelana wrote.

“I’m so sad. can’t believe this. Big Sam where are you? am shaking,” Yvonne Jegede wrote.

The 39-year-old was married to Jennifer Awele.

They have three children together.

I don’t say much here anymore for a lot of reasons but I’ll say this, this was all preventable deaths if the minimum standards of safety was followed. If we in this business take ourselves a bit more seriously and practice this profession with all the seriousness it deserves. Nobody should go into a boat without a life jacket. Period. No producer should send people into one nor should anybody cast/crew enter anyone. How many deaths are enough?…… Richerd Mofe Damijo….

What a tragedy ! What a shame ! How could these young men take this kind of risk. No life jackets and you can’t swim. Ahhh. This is so,so sad.

May God receive their souls. Amen🙏….. Zik Zulu Okafor

Comedian AY, wife separate after 20 years

Published

Popular Nigerian comedian, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, and his wife, Mabel, have separated after 20 years of “friendship/marriage”.

The comedian confirmed the development in a post on his Instagram page on Sunday.

He said he had reached a stage where he could no longer entertain the public with “deep personal family issues.”

He wrote, “Many people believe that staying silent simply means that one is incapable of dealing with issues. Projecting a negative narrative against someone who is not struggling to defend himself doesn’t mean he is weak. Some of us are just logical enough to understand the difference between opinions, values, beliefs, and facts.

“The personality and ability that I possess simply confirm that I have reached that stage in my life where I can not be entertaining the public with deep personal family issues. They just might be too much to handle concerning the individuals involved. Not even when I have a grown-up daughter who has access to social media. Her mental health needs to be protected from seeing things she can not be proud of online.

“Yes! Without compromising my family, I have found myself doing some things that I am not proud of today. It is one thing to watch my friendship/marriage of 20 years slip off my hands, but it’s another thing for the parties involved to understand how to appropriate the blame in a space that is designed for most women to always play the victims and win. I can tell you for free that no one is completely innocent enough to cast stones.

“Presently, I am loving the way that lies about me in all these blogs are travelling faster than the truth. But my painful truth will eventually beat away all the lies.”

Also, in a post on her Instagram page on Sunday, Mabel said she had stopped reacting to disrespect.

She wrote, “Distance is my new response to disrespect. I don’t react, I don’t argue. I don’t dive into the drama. I just remove myself.”

Ayo and Mabel got married in November 2008, and they are blessed with two children.

REALTIMERS HOST A RECEPTION TO HONOUR DR SHAIBU, NEW NFVCB BOSS

It was an evening of happiness, conviviality, and camaraderie, on Saturday, March 30, 2024, as members of the Realtime Moviearts group hosted a reception in honour of the new Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board, Dr Shaibu Husseini.
Members of the Realtime Moviearts group, made up of publishers, editors, and ceo’s of media outfits, gathered inside the arena of the COSON house in Ikeja to rejoice with and celebrate Dr Shaibu.
The reception, designed as an informal evening of fun and yabis for members, in the usual Realtime manner, had veteran entertainment broadcast journalist, Segun Adebowale, as the compere, and COSON chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji and GM, Bernice Eriemeghe, as special guests of honour.
The close-knit event kicked off with prayers by Business Day topshot, Nonye Ben-Nwankwo, after which members of the group were introduced.
A number of Realtimers used the opportunity to talk about the Shaibu they knew. From Nonye Iwuagwu Ben-Nwankwo, to Dorah Osas, Bidemi Dairo, Alozie Uzokwu, Yemi Oladeinde, Nkarenyi Ukonu, and Juliet Bumah, it was one word of praise, endearment, and appreciation after the other for the man fondly called CJ by Realtimers.
The eulogies weren’t complete until COSON chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji, spoke about the Shaibu he knew and The Nation’s Assistant Entertainment Editor, Gbenga Bada aka BARON gave the toast at the event.
With food, chops, and drinks in the house, all the 27 members of the group urged Chief Okoroji to present a plaque to Dr Shaibu, who attended the reception alongside his adorable wife, Ruth.

The new ED, a versatile dancer himself, led his friends to the dance floor after a heartwarming and promised filled thank you speech that took over 10 minutes.
Before Segun Adebowale officially declared the reception over, members of Realtime, who are now based in diaspora were connected and they equally had one good thing or the other to say about the actor, dancer, culture administrator, journalist and film critic as well as communication teacher, who would henceforth supertend the NFVCB.
Realtime, conceived as a whatsapp group with eminent entertainment journalism practitioners, as members, was founded over 10 years ago by Justin Akpovi-Etsade with Dr Shaibu Husseini as the coordinator.
