EXCLUSIVE: NIGERIAN RAPPER IKECHUKWU FLEES THE COUNTRY FOLLOWING SARS ATTACK

Published

on

SARS kills the innocent boy in a raid, SARS kills cleaner, SARS kills disarmed suspects, SARS harasses girls with a tattoo, SARS kidnaps and robs Ikechukwu, these and many more are headlines that have run through the media, detailing the many atrocities committed by this arm of the police force.
Many lives have been lost or destroyed thanks to them and only a few are able to speak up or fight back.
Nigerian rapper Ikechukwu got his rude awakening on Wednesday as he was allegedly kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint by SARS officials. In his narration, he discloses that they were unfazed by his celebrity status; threatening to set him up as a criminal or kill him.

Although it would seem from his post that the artist and actor wanted to carry out a private investigation and hopefully bring those involved to justice, reports show that he has taken the path of self-salvation as he takes steps to relocate to the United States of America.
No one can blame him for this move as Nigeria has become a dangerous place to live in. There is no guarantee of safety from criminals or police officials alike, and the government can protect no one, instead of like Sowore, you could end up behind bars if you become too vocal with your opinions.
Ikechukwu posted on Instagram saying, “I was kidnapped by SARS last night. Two mins away from my house, taken to Lagos island and made to exhaust my ATM allowance or I would be killed and no one would know”

The rapper further wrote, “Not by armed robbers, but when u are robbed and they are armed fully; 5 ak-47’s. Blows to the head and bundled into a vehicle, isn’t it the same thing? And then after u will now tell me our government is working. Things are in place. Bla Bla. Let me tell u now straight up. I don’t care who u are if u are rolling solo in this town and SARS get u, day or night. If they get ur phone. It’s over for u. They don’t have names or numbers on their uniforms.
They literally said to me “na u burn this our Hilux here yesterday abii”. Acting like they didn’t know who I was and were gonna rope me in anything they felt or do with me what they would. After collecting all the money on Lagos island they start laughing telling me I’m too stubborn that when will I introduce them to don jazzy.

Oh, so u know me. One even bragged about working a lot with wazobiafm. Thanx for that info at least now I have a point to start my own investigation. I could’ve been shot and left in the dark space on that dark road. No id no phone. Who would id me? Who would be looking for me for days? Afterall my people saw me enter uber heading home, on the island. Shey, I’m safe. Good morning. It’s a good day to be alive.
The Lagos State Police command has advised that the rapper make a formal complaint about his alleged kidnapping and robbery. Knowing the history of the Nigeria Police, however, it appears that Ikechukwu has decided that his life is worth saving and that being safe was impossible in Nigeria no matter who you are, hence his relocation.

Actor Junior Pope Odonwodo has died.

According to reports, four actors including Junior Pope fell into Anam River in Anambra State, on their way to a movie location and their bodies have been recovered.

The actor had earlier shared a video of himself and others on a boat, on their way to the movie location.

Captioning the video, he wrote: “See me lamenting….The risk we take to entertain you; crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket…. Na wahooooo Who does that ??”

Some of his colleagues reacted in the comment section of the video shortly after his death was announced.

“Jesus! Oh Lord! Oh Lord,” Tana Adelana wrote.

“I’m so sad. can’t believe this. Big Sam where are you? am shaking,” Yvonne Jegede wrote.

The 39-year-old was married to Jennifer Awele.

They have three children together.

I don’t say much here anymore for a lot of reasons but I’ll say this, this was all preventable deaths if the minimum standards of safety was followed. If we in this business take ourselves a bit more seriously and practice this profession with all the seriousness it deserves. Nobody should go into a boat without a life jacket. Period. No producer should send people into one nor should anybody cast/crew enter anyone. How many deaths are enough?…… Richerd Mofe Damijo….

What a tragedy ! What a shame ! How could these young men take this kind of risk. No life jackets and you can’t swim. Ahhh. This is so,so sad.

May God receive their souls. Amen🙏….. Zik Zulu Okafor
